A rollover is a graphic image that changes when the mouse moves over it. In most instances, the original image reappears when the mouse moves aways from the image. Creating the actual images can be done in any graphics editor. The rollover effect is controlled by Javascript -- so a knowledge of Javscript or access to a rollover script is important. (There are many free rollover scripts available on the Web.) Some graphics editors like Fireworks and ImageReady and HTML editors like Dreamweaver make it easy to use rollovers without knowing Javascript by writing the Javascript and HTML code needed to control the rollover for the user.
