Objectives:
To acquire facility in writing, analyzing and understanding the usage of Sequences and the Circle of Fifths, I and V Chords, II, VI, II, VII and IV Chords.
To acquire facility in writing, analyzing and understanding the usage of Triads in First and Second Inversion.
To provide a thorough foundation in working with Cadences, Phrases, Periods and Non-Chord Tones.

Procedures: Work at the blackboard, Homework & Class Assignments, Quizzes, Midterm, Final Exam

Student Requirements:
 All assignments must be handed in to fulfill the grade.
 Participation in class.
 All quizzes & examinations completed.
Grading Procedures:
 Homework assignments 20%
 Quizzes 20%
 Class participation 10%
 Midterm exam 25%
 Final exam 25%

Absences: No more than two unexcused absences are allowed.
