If your clip doesn't start at 0.0s we have to move the clip to the beginning of the track. (The above clip starts a little after the 38 second mark.) To shift the clip, select the track (again, click in the area under the Mute and Solo buttons), open the Project menu and choose Align with Zero. Don't worry if your clip disappears from the screen -- use the horizontal scroll bar to go back to the beginning of the track at 0.0s and you should see your clip. If the entire clip isn't visible in the window, View > Fit in Window.
